What’s your emergency?

Recently I met a new friend who has begun attending our church.  She is a 9-1-1 emergency operator.  When I discovered her occupation, I had to ask… “What’s the dumbest 9-1-1 call you have received?”  Sometimes there are events that take place in our lives which seem like emergencies at the moment (or maybe not) but don’t really warrant a 9-1-1 call.  Maybe you’ve heard about this woman (read more here) who called 9-1-1 because her husband would not eat his supper!

The reality is, there are some who are facing real-life emergencies relationally, emotionally, physically, maybe even spiritually.  If you’re facing an emergency, I’d love to encourage you and pray for you!

Hearing God – A New Midweek Series for the New Year

Ever sthearingGod_masterruggle to hear God?  Whether it’s the result of distraction or neglect or even God’s mysterious silence, often times hearing God can feel more like a guess than a certainty.  Why can’t God simply speak to me in a clear, audible voice? Sound familiar?

I’m excited about launching a new Midweek series at West Bradenton as we kick-off the New Year beginning Wednesday, January 6th.  Each message in this series will seek to provide practical insight into developing and stretching ourselves to hear from God through the Holy Spirit.
