Guestpost: Glorify Thy Name
March 8, 2010
Cambodia was truly an amazing trip! As a team we were able to be a small part of Tony and Trish’s strategic plan to help win the Cham people to Christ. Tony is a wonderful host and showed us many sites, much scenery, and a lot of unbelievable culture. The Cham are beautiful people, very respectful, and so happy to have the Americans helping them. However, the most incredible thing was to meet a Cham believer. Their faith was real and strong and there was a connection with them. This was a brother or sister in Christ who had to give up a lot to be known as a Christian.
A large part of our trip was working in the clinic. It was nothing fancy… just a hut on stilts. Throughout the day I would watch the village people through a small hole in the wall. They would cook and work and come to the well for their water. There was a lady on our team who daily played worship songs on her flute for the children below as they were waiting to be seen in the clinic. One day she started playing “glorify Thy name in all the earth”. It was at that moment that the Holy Spirit spoke and impressed on my heart that yes, God is working in all of the earth and His name will be glorified even to the uttermost part of Cambodia and all around the globe.
I am so thankful to have seen how a short-term mission trip can help our career missionaries so much. It was awesome to be a part of God’s work and be His hands and feet in Cambodia. Thank you for all your prayers!

I am blessed to serve as Pastor of the West Bradenton Baptist Church in Bradenton, Florida, since June ’08. Prior to this role, I served as Pastor to University Students (5 years) and as Pastor to Students (12 years).
I grew up in Bartlett, Tennessee, just outside of Memphis, TN. The Lord moved powerfully in my life as a freshmen in college regarding an unyielding commitment to Jesus Christ. I have never regretted that decision! I graduated from Memphis State University with a B.A. in Communications and a minor in Sociology. I received my Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. I am currently praying about beginning my doctoral studies in expository preaching.
My Family
My wife, Nova, and I have been married since June ’93 and we have one daughter, a pug named Lulu, and a border collie/lab mix named Tootsie.
In My Sparetime
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family, golf, reading, home renovations, and cleaning the pool.
