Book Review • Reggie
No one is immune from seasons of difficulty and despair. However, for some the brokenness of their beginnings overshadows their life. Reggie Dabbs is one such life. Recounting what he terms his “personal Tuesday,” Reggie recounts the realization as a second-grader of who his mother was and consequently who he really was.
In creative style, Reggie presents his life step-by-step and shares his greatest hurts, fears, and victories. His personal style allow any reader to connect with not only his powerful stories but also his life journey. Rooted in Biblical principles, the book is centered around ten life-changing principles: Know your story, know your truth, know your pain, know your hero, know your choice, know your voice, know your name, know your passion, know your future, and know your father.
Reggie is an inspirational book. I found the weaving of his story throughout the book to be both engaging and effective. I give Reggie four out of five stars. I recommend this book to anyone who needs encouragement during life’s difficult seasons.
