13 years ago today

Thirteen cupcakeyears ago life changed forever.  Our precious daughter was born.  So today, I have spent much of the day reflecting.  I often pray Jeremiah 1:4-8 (Jeremiah’s calling) for her that she would be sensitive to that which God has already set her apart to fulfill for His glory.

Here are a few memories from my reflection today…

  • …learning that God had answered my prayer and that we were having a little girl
  • …discussing names and after deciding upon one and telling all of our family, making a change
  • …driving to the hospital knowing that life would never be the same
  • …many sleepless nights
  • …the first time she smiled
  • …her first staggering steps
  • …her first pool
  • …our first pug standing next to her in the window
  • …her tiny hand in mine
  • …teaching her to ride a bike
  • …her first day of school
  • …her first set of stitches in her chin (I passed out in the doctor’s office)
  • …trips to the mountains (first fishing trip, horseback riding through the river, white-water rafting)
  • …the day she committed her life to Christ and having the joy of baptizing her
  • …car rides to school together
  • …Daddy/daughter dates
  • …the first time I heard her sing

Read Psalm 127 today!

Wednesday Worship

The Psalmist writes in Psalm 103

1Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name!

2Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,

3who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases,

4who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,

5who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Psalm 103:1-5 (ESV)

This is one of my favorite songs of worship… He is my healer!
