Thirteen
years ago life changed forever. Our precious daughter was born. So today, I have spent much of the day reflecting. I often pray Jeremiah 1:4-8 (Jeremiah’s calling) for her that she would be sensitive to that which God has already set her apart to fulfill for His glory.
Here are a few memories from my reflection today…
- …learning that God had answered my prayer and that we were having a little girl
- …discussing names and after deciding upon one and telling all of our family, making a change
- …driving to the hospital knowing that life would never be the same
- …many sleepless nights
- …the first time she smiled
- …her first staggering steps
- …her first pool
- …our first pug standing next to her in the window
- …her tiny hand in mine
- …teaching her to ride a bike
- …her first day of school
- …her first set of stitches in her chin (I passed out in the doctor’s office)
- …trips to the mountains (first fishing trip, horseback riding through the river, white-water rafting)
- …the day she committed her life to Christ and having the joy of baptizing her
- …car rides to school together
- …Daddy/daughter dates
- …the first time I heard her sing
Read Psalm 127 today!
